Future ‘Pulling Motor’ Treatments Will Fix Hair Growth by Repairing the Scalp’s Physical Grip
A groundbreaking study published in Nature Communications has revealed that the hair follicle actually contains a “tiny biological motor”. A hidden network of moving cells in the follicle’s outer layer—the outer root sheath (ORS)—moves in a downward spiral, which generates an active upward force that “pulls” the hair shaft out of the scalp.
